Meredith Kachel
Artist, TEACHER, Friend.
Hi! I'm Meredith Kachel.

I am an artist, Producer, and teaching artist living in Chicago Illinois. I make comedic art, videos, animations, design personal websites, and I also perform as a stand-up comedian. This website is a collection of past and present works, as well as my student's work and teaching philosophies.
I have a BFA from the School of the Art Institute, and I am currently in the graduate program at DePaul University working on my Me.D in Secondary Education with a concentration in Visual Arts. I was an illustrator at the John G. Shedd Aquarium, and I helped paint President Barack Obama's mural in his campaign headquarters. I am the Executive Director of an all-ages arts mentorship program called ag47, which is my pride and joy.

My work is informed by self-deprecation, storytelling, honesty, radical self-love, and novelty. I illustrated my first book in 2016: "Things that should exist but do not". You may also find my 2017 study on Gender and Comedy production in Chicago Stand-up Comedy here. It was featured in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, The Chicago Reader, and on WGN.
